We turn genomic data
Developing a new variety of fruit or vegetable takes 5 to 6 years and costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. A major part of this budget is spent on growing test plants. The bottleneck in this process waiting for the plants to mature, before being able to observe their traits. Geshem Genomics develops a unique computational platform for evaluating plant genomic data and identifying traits with agronomic importance. Using our computational genomics technology, plant breeders do not have to wait for the plants to mature. Based on the plants' genomic data taken from leaves at early development stage, they can find out much sooner which plants will have desired trait combination at maturity, and significantly reduce the cost of their trials.
